5h+2(11−h)=−5

Simplify:

5h+2(11−h)=−5

5h+(2)(11)+(2)(−h)=−5(Distribute)

5h+22+−2h=−5

(5h+−2h)+(22)=−5(Combine Like Terms)

3h+22=−5

Subtract 22 from both sides.

3h+22−22=−5−22

3h=−27

Divide both sides by 3.

3h/3=−27/3

h=−9

5h + 2(11-h) = -5

5h +2*11 +2*(-h) = -5

5h +22 -2h = -5

3h + 22 = -5

3h = -5 -22

3h = -27

------

Therefore:

h=(-9), as 3 *(-9) = -27
