we have been given a mixed fraction - 4
(27)/(125).
there are 4 wholes of 125 and remaining 27. then numerator is equal to 125 x 4 + 27 = 527.
then the improper fraction is

(527)/(125).
To write as a decimal , the denominator should be a power of 10. denominator 125 can be multiplied by 8 to get a power of 10.
125 x 8 = 1000. both numerator and denominator should be multiplied by 8

(527*8)/(125*8) = (4216)/(1000)
now to write as a decimal, 4216 has been divided by 1000.
when dividing by a power of 10, the decimal point should move to the left.
when dividing by 1000, the decimal point should move 3 decimal places to the left. the decimal point of 4216 is after 6, when it moves 3 places to the left its between 4 and 2. Therefore answer is 4.216
