To round 389,422 to the ten thousand, you need to go to the second number which is 8 and round it to the right. To the right of 8 is 9 so if a number is more than 5 you round 8 to 9. Then all the numbers after 8 turn into zeros

So... your answer is:

390,000

Answer:

The round off of the number 389,422 to the ten thousand is 390,000.

Explanation:

While rounding off the number we have to follow certain rules:

  1. If the rightmost digit to be removed is more than 5, the preceding number is increased by one. For example: 1.6 ≈ 5
  2. If the rightmost digit to be removed is less than 5, the preceding number is not changed. For example: 23.4 ≈ 23
  3. If the rightmost digit to be removed is 5, then the preceding number is not changed if it is an even number but it is increased by one if it is an odd number. For example: 0.25 ≈ 0.2, 0.35≈ 0.4

389,422 ≈ 390,000
