A major factor in the Dreyfus affair was b)antisemitism. The Dreyfus Affair was a case which took place in France where an army officer was tried of passing French military secrets to the German army. However, the officer tried was based on false accusations, when the real culprit was acquitted, and Dreyfus was imprisoned for ten years in exile and stripped of his medals publicly. This was due to the antisemitism which was rampant in Europe.
