The Compromise of 1850 was proposed by
Senator Henry Clay
.
The Compromise of 1850 is composed of five laws that are being passed in the September of 1850 responding to the rampant issue of slavery. The Fugitive Slave Act was amended and the slave trade in Washington D. C. was abolished as part of the Compromise 1850 introduced by Senator Clay. Once again, California entered the Union as a free state resulting to the creation of a territorial government in Utah to avoid misunderstanding.

C. Henry Clay
Henry Clay proposed the series of resolutions known as the Compromise of 1850, it was meant to avert a crisis between the North and the South. Obviously, it didn't really work, considering the Civil War.
