MEDC stand for more economically developed countries while LEDC stand for less economically developed countries. Basically, both refer to the wealth and economy of a country and can be defined by factors such as
birth rate
death rate
GNP
Natural Increase
life expectancy
people per doctor or health care
Literacy level
housing

Judging by the above factors, China can be classified as an MEDC country because it has a Low birth rate of 12.17 per 1000 births, a low death rate of 7.44 deaths/1000 population, GNP of 98,909 USD as at 2014. MEDC countries have a GNP of more than 10,000 USD. China has a life expectancy of 75.2 which is considered high and which characterizes MEDC countries. China has also grown to have a high literacy level due to easy access to or free education, adequate decent housing as well as easy access to proper medical care.
