Saladin and Richard were both warriors of the third Crusade. Their goals were to restore and redeem Jerusalem from the Muslims. They were also known as chivalrous warriors. Richard killed many Muslims prisoners at Acre while Saladin killed mostly the Templars and the Hospitallers. Richard’s goal was first to capture the port of Jaffa in order to capture Jerusalem. While Saladin’s goal is to prevent the recapture of Jerusalem, so he prepared his army to stop any crusaders that attempted to capture Jerusalem.
