$-2x=x^(2) -6 \\x^(2) +2x-6\\((b)/(2)) ^(2) =((2)/(2)) ^(2) =1^(2) =1\\so, (x^(2) +2x+1)-6+1\\ x^(2) +2x+1=(x+1)^(2) \\-6+1=5\\(x+1)^(2) -5$
