50% of the population in Alaska lives within a 50-mile radius of Anchorage. If the total area of Alaska is 586,412 square miles, about what percent of the total land area is within 50 miles of Anchorage? I would like to know how to go about solving this problem and the answer.

You would need to find the area of the 50 radius circle using pie r squared then put that over 586,412 to get a decimal the putting it into a percentage by multiplying your decimal by 10. Hope I helped!
