Addends are the numbers that are added together in a sum. Only six digit numbers that have six different numbers, not including zero, in each of their place value columns will have six addends in expanded form. For example, 150,000 is a six digit number, but in expanded form it is simply 100,000 + 50,000 which has two addends.
