Two different plants grow each year at different rates, which are represented by the functions f(x) = 4x and g(x) = 5x + 2. What is the first year the f(x) height is greater than the g(x) height? A. Year 0 B.Year 1 C.Year 2 D.Year 3 Can i get some help plz

The answer is C, I just took the test and got it right.

Negative years i.e. no soluton at all

Explanation:

Given that two different plants grow each year at different rates,

These are represented by functions

f(x) = 4x and g(x) = 5x+2

We have to find out when f(x) starts to be greater than g(x)

4x>5x+2

gives

x <-2

Since no of years cannot be negative

there is no solution to this question

Always 5x+2>4x for all x >0

Hence no solution at all.
