A speech devoid of any inflection in the speaker's voice is "monotone". This can be remembered from the word "mono" which means "one". There is only "one tone".

I want to utilize vocal inflection in my speech so that my audience remains interested in what I have to say. This would mean I would try to be as monotone as possible when I emphasize a claim or idea.
