Combine like terms to get:

19x+20=10x+2

Subtract 10x+20 to get:

9x=-18

Dividing by 9, we see that:

x=-2

Therefore, -2 is the answer.

solve your equation step-by-step.

18x+20+x=5+10x−3

Simplify both sides of the equation.

18x+20+x=5+10x−3

18x+20+x=5+10x+−3

(18x+x)+(20)=(10x)+(5+−3)(Combine Like Terms)

19x+20=10x+2

Subtract 10x from both sides.

19x+20−10x=10x+2−10x

9x+20=2

Subtract 20 from both sides.

9x+20−20=2−20

9x=−18

Divide both sides by 9.

9x/9=−18/9

x=−2
