The answer is $1.50

Read below for the explainaton :)

So 12 pounds is to $6 // 12 pounds : $6

To find the cost of apples for 3 pounds, set up the ratio the same way as the given ratio.
3 pounds : $x

To find x, the cost, compare the two ratios.
12 pounds : $6
3 pounds : $x

Now how did we get from 12 pounds to 3 pounds?
- by dividing by 4

So what you do to one side you must do to the other. Which means divide $6 by 4 to find the answer.

By doing so you get $1.50

And there you go the cost of 3 pounds of apples is $1.50

Hope that helped:)
