1.In both battles, the lands were avenged by both sides. It also seemed like the both the battles were a turning point in the Pacific War for both sides.

2. It was significant because the Japanese unleashed over 1,900 kamikaze attacks on the Allies during the Okinawa campaign which killed 5,000 seamen and sunk 30 American ships.

3. Roosevelt was a mediator and he had hoped that the Soveit Union would stand by its commitments to join the war against Japan and he also wanted Stalin's support for a new world peace organization.
