3/4x+5/8=4x

Subtract 4x from both sides.

3/4x+5/8−4x=4x−4x

−13/4x+5/8=0

Subtract 5/8 from both sides.

−13/4x+5/8−5/8=0−5/8

−13/4x=−5/8

Multiply both sides by 4/(-13).

(4/−13)*(−13/4x)=(4/−13)*(−5/8)

x=5/26

3/4x + 5/8 = 4x

4x - 3/4x = 5/8

16/4x - 3/4x = 5/8

13/4x = 5/8

(4/13) * (13/4) * x = (4/13) *(5/8)

x = 20/104

x = 5/26
