write an equation of the line which has the given slope and passes through the given point. m=-5; (9,1) with formula

If the slope is -5, the line will be in the form y=-5x+b.  Substituting 9, 1 for x and y respectively, we see that 1=b-45, so b=46.  Therefore, the equation is y=-5x+46.
