You said 3 (2x + 8) = 0

Divide each side by 3 : 2x + 8 = 0

Subtract 8 from each side: 2x = - 8

Divide each side by 2 : x = - 4

3(2x+8)=0

Simplify both sides of the equation.

3(2x+8)=0

(3)(2x)+(3)(8)=0(Distribute)

6x+24=0

Subtract 24 from both sides.

6x+24−24=0−24

6x=−24

Divide both sides by 6.

6x/6 = −24/6

x=−4
