use slope interscpe form
y=mx+b
m=slope
b=y intercept
to find the slope do
(y1-y2)/(x1-x2) (note, x2 does not mean x squared, it means the second x)
so the numbesr are
(x,y)
(2,-4)
(-2,-2)
x1=2
x2=-2
y1=-4
y2=-2
subsitute
(-4-(-2))/(2-(-2)=(-4+2)/(2+2)=(-2)/(4)=-1/2
slope =-1/2

subsitute
y=(-1/2)x+b
solve for b
(2,-4)
so if x=2 then y=-4 so subsitute
-4=(-1/2)(2)+b
-4=-(2/2)+b
-4=-1+b
add 1 to both sides
-3=b
the equuation is
y=-1/2x+3
