8x-15=17 now to get rid of the 15 simply add 15 to each sides like so
8x-15=17
+15|+15
0 | 32
then bring down 8x and 32, then you have to divide 8 on both sides to get rid of 8 and have x and divide 8 and 32 and then you get x
|
x = 4
