Set up a proportion
18 3/4
=
n
5 4
Cross multiply across the = sign
5 x n= 5n and 18 3/4 x 4 = 75
5
n =
75
now divide both sides by 5
5 5
n=15 Amanda can jog 15 miles in 4 hours.
