2x + 1y = 5 ⇒ 6x + 3y = 15
1x + 3y = 5 ⇒
1x + 3y = 5
5x
=
10
5 5
x = 2
2x + y = 5
2(2) + y = 5
4 + y = 5
- 4 - 4
y = 1
(x, y) = (2, 1)
The answer is B.
