irst lets represent
x as first number and x+1 as ne t consecutive number
x+x+1=89
2x=88
x=44
therefore the consecutive numbers are 44 and 45

let the first number be x
the second number is (x + 1)
according to the condition,
x+(x+1)=89
or, 2x+1=89
or, 2x=89-1
or, 2x=88
or, x=88/2
or, x = 44
therefore,
first number = 44
second number = 45
