So,

I'm assuming that this is a simple multiplication problem.

All we have to do (I'm assuming) is multiply 312 by 3.5.
312 * 3.5 = $1092

It will cost $1092 to carpet the family room with the same carpet.

Answer:

$3822

Explanation:

We are given that Each dimension of a rectangular family room is 3.5 times larger than the rectangular bedroom.

So, length of a rectangular family room must be 3.5 times larger than rectangular bedroom.

And Breadth of a rectangular family room must be 3.5 times larger than rectangular bedroom.

So, area of rectangular family room must be larger than rectangular bedroom by
3.5^2 =12.25 times

So, Area of rectangular family room must be 12.25 times larger than rectangular bedroom

Now cost of carpet for bedroom = $312

So, cost of same carpet for family room =
312 * 12.25

=
3822

Hence the cost to carpet the family room is $3822.
