Use the tangent of 30 degrees to find the value of Z, as follow:


\begin{gathered} \tan 30=\frac{\text{opposite}}{\text{adjacent}}=(7ft)/(Z) \\ Z=(7ft)/(\tan 30)\approx12.12ft \end{gathered}

Now, to calculate the the hypotenuse of the triangle, use the Pythagorean theorem:


\begin{gathered} h^2=(12.12ft)^2+(7ft^2) \\ h\approx14.0ft \end{gathered}

Hence, the missing lengths of the given triangle are Z = 12.12ft and

h =14.0 ft
