The right choices are option b. strengthen national defense and d.supply more raw materials. Thanks to the American military bases in foreign countries the United States could improve its national defense during World War II and the Cold War, some good examples are the were the ones located in the Galapagos islands and the Easter Island. Also, thanks to the commercial treaties with different countries, the United States could increase supply of raw materials like oil, wood and metals.
