Henry Clay's American system was protective to tariffs. But the false statement is that he didn't want to renew the National bank.

The correct answer is C) the transition from slave labor to wage labor in the South.

All of the following were components of the Henry Clay’s American system except the transition from slave labor to wage labor in the South.

The so called American system was a plan to improve the economy in the United States during the beginning of the 19th century. The plan consisted on imposed tariffs to protect the American production of goods, the creation of a National Bank to promote savings and trade, and the application of federal subsidies to improve the infrastructure of roads. But what was not a component of the Henry Clay’s American system was the transition from slave labor to wage labor in the South.

The other options of the question were, a) a strong national banking system, b) improvement’s in the nation infrastructure, and d) tariffs on imported goods.
