Final answer:

Drag is a non-contact force that occurs when an object moves through a fluid and opposes the motion; it does not require physical contact to act on the object.

Step-by-step explanation:

Drag is a non-contact force that acts on an object moving through a fluid (such as air or water). It is a resistance force that always opposes the motion. Unlike contact forces which require physical interaction between objects, drag force can act without direct contact because it arises from the interaction between the fluid's particles and the surface of the moving object. When discussing the fundamentals of drag, the drag force FD acting on an object like a baseball moving at a velocity v in a fluid can mathematically be expressed as FD = ¹ CpAv², where Cp is the coefficient of drag, A represents the cross-sectional area, and v is the object's velocity squared.

in my opinion i think it is a force because its showing frictional force consisting of two surfaces touching one another, in conclusion drag is a force
