Representatives from the c) nobility comprised the Estates-General. They can also be described as the chief lords or representatives from well-to-do towns and the representatives in the Estates-General. The Estates-General was a legislative and consultative assembly of the different classes of French subjects (meaning members who had close relationships to the state).
