The snow began falling early in the morning. Tiny, weightless crystals. By early afternoon, the ground was covered with several inches of snow. Snow flurries continued throughout the day. When the evening came, the snow was still falling. At least a foot of snow lay on the ground. Which of the following is a sentence fragment?

a. The snow began falling early in the morning.
b. Snow flurries continued throughout the day.
c. Tiny, weightless crystals.
d. When the evening came, the snow was still falling.

It's C. "Tiny, weightless crystals", doesn't have proper sentence structure at all, and sounds like there should've been more words with it.

Answer: the correct answer is c. Tiny, weightless crystals

Explanation: Sentence fragments are sets of words that look like sentences, but aren't. To be a sentence, groups of words need to have at least one independent clause. An independent clause is any sort of words that have both a subject and a verb and can stand on its own.
