x^2 - 6x + 5 = 0 \\ (x-1)(x-5)=0 \\ x_(1) =1 \\ x_(2) =5

we need to find 2 numbers that multiply to get 5 and add to get -6
they must both be negative so
factor 5
5=1 times 5 or -1 times -5
-5+-1=-6 check

factor
(x-1)(x-5)=0

if we factor and get zy=0 then assume z and/or y=0 so
x-1=0
x-5=0

x-1=0
add 1
x=1

x-5=0
add 5
x=5

x=1 or 5
