What rights and responsibilities do citizens of South Carolina have? Describe at least two rights and responsibilities. I know two responsibilities would be to pay taxes and serve on juries, but what rights do we have? Would it be voting? What else?

Rights:

  • Freedom of Speech
  • Freedom of Press
  • Freedom of Religion
  • Right to a fail trail (if accused of a crime)
  • Right to Vote

These rights are guaranteed by both the U.S. Constitution and the N.C. Constitution.

Responsibilities:

  • Paying Taxes
  • Obeying Laws
  • Serving on a Jury
  • Being an informed Citizen
  • Going out to vote

Responsibilities are things that are expected from active members of their communities.

Yes, you definitely have the right to vote as long as you meet the national qualifications such as age, etc. You also have the right to represented by a lawyer in court.
