p= sum of the sides = 2l+2w opposite sides are the same x=width 2x+5= length 2x+ 2(2x+5)=58 remove( ) 2x+ 4x+10=58 combine like terms 6x+10= 58 subtract 10 from both sides 6x=48 divide by 6 x=8 width 2 x 8+5= 21 length hope this helps

Let the width be w
Length= 2w+5
Perimeter= 2(length+width)
58=2(2w+w+5)
58=2(3w+5)
3w+5=29
3w=24
Width=8yards
Length=2(8)+5
=21yards
