Given the figure of a right-angle triangle

As shown, the hypotenuse = 15 yd

And one of the legs = 13 yd

We will find the side (x) using the Pythagorean theorem as follows:


x^2+13^2=15^2

Solve the equation to find (x):


\begin{gathered} x^2=15^2-13^2 \\ x^2=56 \\ x=√(56)=√(4*14)=√(4)*√(14) \\ x=2√(14) \end{gathered}

So, the answer will be 2√14
