All of the following are requirements to serve in the Senate EXCEPT: A. A candidate must be at least 30 years old. B. A candidate must be a resident of the state he/she wishes to represent. C. A candidate must be born in the United States. D. A candidate must be a citizen of the United States.

The correct answer is C, as being born in the United States is not a requirement to serve in the Senate. The third section of Article I of the Constitution establishes three requirements for Senators: each Senator must be at least 30 years of age, must be a citizen of the United States for at least nine years and, finally, must have his / her residence ( at the time of the election) in the state he / she seeks to represent.

All of the following are requirements to serve in the Senate except "C. A candidate must be born in the United States." This is only true for the president of the US.
