We have the following:

\begin{gathered} 1.8=5.4x-y \\ y=-3.8-6.2x \end{gathered}

solving:

\begin{gathered} 1.8=5.4x-(-3.8-6.2x) \\ 1.8=5.4x+3.8+6.2x \\ 6.2x+5.4x=1.8-3.8 \\ 11.6x=-2 \\ x=-(2)/(11.6) \\ x=-(2\cdot2.5)/(11.6\cdot2.5) \\ x=-(5)/(29) \end{gathered}

now, for y:

\begin{gathered} y=-3.8-6.2\cdot-(5)/(29) \\ y=-3.8\cdot(29)/(29)+(31)/(29) \\ y=-(110.2)/(29)+(31)/(29) \\ y=-(79.2\cdot5)/(29\cdot5) \\ y=-(396)/(145) \end{gathered}

So, x = -5/29 and y = -396/145
