f(x) = 4x² + 5x - 6
f(x - 1) = 4(x - 1)² + 5(x - 1) - 6
f(x - 1) = 4(x - 1)(x - 1) + 5(x) - 5(1) - 6
f(x - 1) = 4(x(x - 1) - 1(x - 1)) + 5x - 5 - 6
f(x - 1) = 4(x(x) - x(1) - 1(x) + 1(1)) + 5x - 11
f(x - 1) = 4(x² - x - x + 1) + 5x - 11
f(x - 1) = 4(x² - 2x + 1) + 5x - 11
f(x - 1) = 4(x²) - 4(2x) + 4(1) + 5x - 11
f(x - 1) = 4x² - 8x + 4 + 5x - 11
f(x - 1) = 4x² - 8x + 5x + 4 - 11
f(x - 1) = 4x² - 3x - 7
