From the question;

we are given the functions

\begin{gathered} f(x)=x^4+9x^2\text{ - 3} \\ g(x)\text{ = (}(1)/(2))^(x-2) \end{gathered}

we are to find the values of x for which

f(x)\text{ = g(x)}

To do this we will be solving the two functions graphically

By plotting the function f(x) and g(x) we get

From the graph above,

we have the curve intersecting at

x\text{ = -1.058 and x =0.75}

By approximating the values we have

x\approx\text{ -1 and x }\approx\text{ 0.75}

Therefore the correct option is C
