subtract 4x from both sides and it will be 6y=-4x+12y. Divide by 6 on both sides which will be y=-4/6+2 because you have to subtract 4x from both sides to get y alone and then divide by 6 to get it completely alone

4x+6y+12=0\ \ \ \ /-4x;\ /-12\\\\6y=-4x-12\ \ \ \ /:6\\\\y=-(4)/(6)x-(12)/(6)\\\\y=-(2)/(3)x-2
