The best way to solve this is to put it into a proportion:

(x)/(84) = ( (1)/(4) )/( (3)/(4) )

So you cross multiply to get:

21= (3)/(4) x

(the 21 is from
(1)/(4)

•84)
Then multiply by
(4)/(3)

And you get $28, so the reduced price would be $28.
