f(x) = 3x + 1
y = 3x + 1
y - 1 = 3x + 1 - 1
y - 1
=
3x
3 3
¹/₃y - ¹/₃ = x
y = ¹/₃x - ¹/₃
f⁻¹(x) = ¹/₃x - ¹/₃
f⁻¹(10) = ¹/₃(10) - ¹/₃
f⁻¹(10) = 3¹/₃ - ¹/₃
f⁻¹(10) = 3
It is equal too (10, 3).
