2x² + 6x - 4 = 0
2(x²) + 2(3x) - 2(2) = 0
2(x² + 3x - 2) = 0
2 2
x² + 3x - 2 = 0
x = -(3) +/- √((3)² - 4(1)(-2))
2(1)
x = -3 +/- √(9 + 8)
2
x = -3 +/- √(17)
2
x = -1.5 + 0.5√(17)
x = -1.5 + 0.5√(17) U x = -1.5 - 0.5√(17)
