$the\ smaller\ angle= (3)/(8) \cdot 160^0=(3)/(8) \cdot (160^0)/(1) = (3\cdot20^0)/(1) =60^0\\ \\a=360^0-(160^0+60^0)=360^0-220^0=140^0$
