The advantages of having women in the parliament is that the general population is better represented in the parliament, women being over half of the population (in the US, not everywhere). Addiftionally women will ensure that women-specific issues will not be neglected.

I do not know of any disadvantages. Some people might argue that it will mean that their children will be neglected, but not all women have children or small children at the time and the disadvantages of not having women in the parliament definitely outweigh this.
