What is the current in a 10v circuit if the resistance is 20?

If the potential difference between the ends of the circuit is 10V
and the total effective resistance of everything connected between
the ends is 20 ohms, then the current is

I = (V/R) = 10V / 20 ohms = 0.5 Ampere .
