Well, Charles Darwin is the author of "the Origin of Species", so he is the correct answer. He did introduce the idea of natural selection and evolution, which does mean that organisms evolve over time to adapt to the environment. Marx wrote "the communist manifesto", Rousseau was a philosopher who's ideals inspired the French Revolution, and Charles Dickens was an author and social critic, so they aren't the correct response.
