When solving a problem about consecutive numbers, an easy trick is to divide the final sum by the amount of consecutive numbers.
In this case, 108 / 8 = 13.5. This number is your center.
If you have an even amount of consecutive numbers, you will actually have two centers, with the divided answer being halfway between them.
In this case, 13 and 14.
Your consecutive numbers for this problem are 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, and 17. As you can see, there are an equal amount of numbers on each side of the center.

10 + 11 + 12 + 13 + 14 + 15 + 16 + 17 = 108
