alright, so to understand algebra
use PEMDAS
parenthasees
exponents (square roots count as exponents)
multiply or divide
add or subtract

basically try to isolate the unknown/vareable/xterm
so

3(2x-1)-10=8+5x (assuming you meant to type 8+5x and not 8=5x)

first distribute using distributive property
a(b+c)=ab+ac
3(2x-1)=3 times 2x+3 times -1=6x-3
6x-3-10=8+5x
add like terms
6x-13=8+5x
subtract 5x from both sides
x-13=8
add 13 to both sdies
x=21
