let x= Joe's age 2x+3= Aiden's age Aiden is 7 2x+3=7 subtract 3 from both sides 2x=4 divide by 2 x=2 Joe is 2yrs old hope this helps

Joe is 2 years old.

7-3=4

4/2=2

2*2=4

4+3=7
