The productive capacity of the US was by far its greatest strength during WWII. Prior to entry in the war, US manufacturers had already been building and sending weapons/munitions/ships to European forces opposed to Hitler. By and far, the ability of the US to enter full-scale wartime mobilization resulted gave Allied forces a much needed edge.
